Google and FCA to Bring Autonomy to the Family Household

While Fiat Chrysler Automobiles just rolled-out the highly anticipated 2017 Chrysler Pacifica, there’s already talk of a new variant–one that is completely autonomous.

“FCA and Google have made it official. In a statement released this afternoon, the two companies announced that Google will begin testing its self-driving technology on the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid later this year,” reports the staff at Car and Driver. “Approximately 100 Pacifica Hybrids will be designed and engineered for this task by FCA, at which point Google will take over and install its autonomous vehicle technology.”

In order to bring this technology into the world safely, Google will begin testing feverishly later this year. While the Pacifica is already packed with thoughtful, family friendly amenities, a self-driving variant could truly be the icing on the cake, especially for a busy family.

Currently in the market for a family car that is sure to entertain even the pickiest child? Come explore the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica today.
