Jim Repp tells the tale of the Rubicon in new My Jeep Story video

2016 marks Jeep brand's 75th anniversary, and by now, most of us have heard its new motto, "We don't make Jeep. You do." This slogan isn't just for show, Jeep brand is backing it up with its My Jeep Story series, in which real Jeep brand fans can share their experiences with the iconic American automaker. To that end, this week Jeep brand released a video from its Vehicle Development Manager, Jim Repp on his story of the road to creating the rugged Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4x4.

Jim Repp is a lifelong Jeep brand fanatic, having first fallen in love with the classic Jeep CJ, so working with Jeep brand's engineering department was a dream come true for him. During his tenure as Lead Wrangler Engineer, Repp saw a need for a Jeep vehicle that could roll right out of the factory stock and onto the trails. He felt passionately about this and soon convinced others on his engineering team of his vision. While many balked at how the market would react to such a vehicle, Repp stood strong, assured of his vision. And his passion payed off when the Rubicon debuted at the 2002 Easter Jeep Safari, and Jeep brand fans welcomed the new addition to the Wrangler lineup with open arms.

In Jim Repp's story there is a real validation of Jeep brand's new motto. A lifelong fan creating a vehicle that has been a staple of Jeep's brand lineup for over a decade now.
