Power and performance
The 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan is powered by an all-new powertrain: 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 mated to a smooth-shifting six-speed automatic transaxle which delivers best-in-class horsepower (283 hp compared with 197 hp in the previous 3.8-liter V-6 engine) and more torque (260 lb.-ft. versus 230 lb.-ft.). The new Grand Caravan drivers can change the transaxle shift schedule with the flip of a switch to maximize their fuel economy.
Body and styling
The sleek and trendy entry level Express model includes tri-zone air-conditioning, a removable floor-mounted center console, a touring suspension, carpeting, second-row Stow 'n' Go bucket seats, a conversation mirror and a six-speaker audio system. Sixteen-inch alloy wheels, power second-row and rear windows are the key features of the Mainstreet model. The Crew features fog lights, 17-inch wheels, power sliding doors, tri-zone automatic climate control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and an upgraded audio system with satellite radio and digital music storage. The fit R/T is the top of the lineup model with a performance-tuned suspension, leather seats and a premium Infiniti sound system.
Safety Features
The Grand Caravan minivan comes with more than 40 high tech safety and security features including electronic stability control, tire pressure monitoring, front seat-mounted side air bags, a new driver-side knee blocker air bag, three-row side-curtain air bags and remote keyless entry.
The Safety Sphere package with ParkSense rear park assist system, ParkView rear backup camera, Blind-spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Path detection system, rain-sensitive wipers and automatic headlamps is available.
