2010 Dodge Sprinter Review

Overview

The 2010 Dodge Sprinter is a full-size van well known for its handling power, class-leading cabin space, and wide variety of configurations. It is available in four body styles - Cargo Van, Passenger Van, Extended Cargo Van, and Chassis Cab. All body styles come with a 144-inch (Standard Roof) and 170-inch (High Roof) wheelbase except the Extended Cargo Van. The Extended Cargo Van is available with a 170-inch wheelbase only. Cargo and Extended Cargo Vans are offered in 2500 (three-quarter ton) and 3500 (one-ton) versions, while the Passenger Van comes in the 2500 form and the Chassis Cab is available in the 3500 version.

Power and performance

All 2010 Dodge Sprinter models come with a standard 154-horsepower 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 engine mated to a five-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive configuration is offered as standard on the Sprinter. When properly equipped, the 2010 Sprinter can tow up to 5000 pounds.

Body and styling

Standard interior and exterior features across all Sprinter models include tilt/telescope steering column; air conditioning with automatic temperature control; power locks; power windows; all-season tires; monotone paint; high clearance sliding door; sender fuel for auxiliary heater; tinted windshield glass; rearview day/night mirror; exterior manual mirrors; and front speakers. Plenty of features are also available as options on the 2010 Sprinter. The 2010 Dodge Sprinter Passenger Van offers a maximum seating for 12 passengers in its four rows. The 2010 Sprinter has an abundance of storage space with a large center console and instrument panel storage that are standard on the Cargo Van, 2500 Passenger Van, and 3500 Chassis Cab.

Passenger airbag; driver airbag; front crumple zones; and side impact door beams are standard safety features that the 2010 Sprinter is equipped with. Heated front passenger's seat; side front driver airbag; heated driver's seat; supplemental side curtain front and rear airbags; and supplemental front seat-mounted side airbags are available as options on the 2010 Dodge Sprinter.
